Dyslexia Assessment
APC Registered
(Assessment Practising Certificate)
I offer a professional, honest and caring approach to supporting your child. From initial enquiry to the written report, you will gain personalised advice and guidance, based on a wealth of experience in SEN and education.
I have a strong local reputation and good links with local schools, helping me to understand your child's situation and offer specific action points to help them progress.
A dyslexia assessment isn't just about putting a label on your child's difficulties.
It can help you understand:
What they're good at - identify strengths that can be built upon.
What they're finding difficult - understand the underlying areas affecting reading, writing and learning.
Why they're struggling - build a clearer picture of their individual learning profile.
What to do next - receive practical recommendations for school and home.
A dyslexia assessment for children (age 8+) and young people who are not in employment is charged at £400.
This includes a detailed, full diagnostic report which is valid to support exam adjustments and DSA at university (Disabled Student's Allowance).
First, make contact with me via email. I will give you a call to talk things through, and help you decide if an assessment is right for your child. Then I will send you a background questionnaire to complete - this provides important information for the assessment.
Next, I contact you to offer available dates. Finally, you will be sent a payment link - once payment has been made your appointment is confirmed.
You will receive the written report within 2-4 weeks of your appointment via email. This report includes recommendations for school (in-class, intervention and exam access arrangements) and ways you can support at home. Send this report onto your child's school, and request a meeting to discuss next steps.
Don't worry if you feel unsure how to progress things - I can guide you through the process.
