I'm Jane, an independent dyslexia assessor based in Brough (just outside Hull), East Yorkshire.
I have over 12 years' specialist experience supporting children and young people with dyslexia, learning differences and other neurodivergent needs.
Before establishing my independent assessment practice, I founded and led local charity Dyslexia Sparks, supporting children and families affected by dyslexia across the local area. I now provide independent dyslexia assessments for children, young people and adults aged 8 and over.
I understand that deciding whether your child needs an assessment can feel like a big step. My aim is to make the process relaxed, supportive and straightforward - while giving you the clear information you need to understand your child's learning and know what to do next.
With a background in psychology and a wide range of SEN and neurodiversity experience, I understand the challenges with learning that are often encountered, and am experienced in providing assessments and advice to ensure the right support is accessed.
I also hold an up to date Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) - this ensures my assessments are accepted by schools, colleges and universities, and can be used for Form 8 applications (GCSE Exam Access Arrangements), as well as DSA (Disabled Students Allowance).
